Christian County Public Schools will keep an eye on the weather forecast for the next 48 hours and will announce a definitive decision regarding any modifications to the graduation ceremonies by 2 PM on Friday, May 17.
CURRENTLY, THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE GRADUATION CEREMONY PLANS. However, should adverse weather conditions arise, here are the contingency measures:
In case of a delay: Graduates and their families will be informed of any start time delays if the weather temporarily worsens. Delays are expected to be less than 30 minutes, allowing the ceremony to proceed once weather conditions, such as lightning or storms, improve.
In case of relocation to the school: Graduates and their families will be informed if the ceremonies are moved to the respective school gymnasiums. This change will make the event ticketed. Each graduate has received 6 tickets during rehearsal for use in case of bad weather; every attendee will need a ticket to enter. Entry will be through the FRONT ENTRANCE of the GYMS.
We will communicate any schedule changes to graduates, their families, and the public through our district messaging system, social media, and local news outlets.
The gates will open one hour before the scheduled time at either the stadium or school gymnasiums. No tickets are required for entry to the Stadium of Champions. Families are welcome to use both sides of the stadium for seating.
Regardless of the venue, all guests must pass through the district’s weapons detection system. No bags, purses, backpacks, gift bags, or balloons will be permitted inside the stadium or gymnasium. Information on the live stream of each ceremony is available on the district website or can be accessed via this link:
