The Hopkinsville High School volleyball team opened its regular season at home in Tiger Gym, facing off in a tough matchup that didn’t go the way they were hoping. Despite dropping the match in straight sets, the Lady Tigers showed determination and flashes of strong play that they will look to build on moving forward.
Junior Madysen Taggart led the team with nine kills and added three aces, giving the Lady Tigers an offensive spark. Kyleigh Weber anchored the defense with six digs, while Alayna King set the pace offensively with 16 assists. Though the scoreboard wasn’t in their favor, the Lady Tigers battled hard and showed plenty of promise for the season ahead.

Adding to the energy of the night was the Hopkinsville High School football team, who brought their Tiger Spirit into the gym to cheer on their classmates. Their chants, noise, and school pride filled Tiger Gym, creating a game-day atmosphere that showed what makes HHS special — students supporting students, on the court, on the field, and everywhere in between.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, August 23, when they take on Garrard County at Christian County, with the first serve scheduled for 9 a.m. Meanwhile, the HHS Football team kicks off their season tonight at the historic Stadium of Champions, ready to bring that same energy and pride under the Friday night lights.
From the court to the field, one thing is clear — Tiger Spirit is alive and thriving at Hopkinsville High School.
