The Hopkinsville High School Tigers delivered a statement win on Saturday at the Stadium of Champions, rolling past Prosser (IL) with an impressive 55-0 shutout victory.
It didn’t take long for the Tigers to set the tone. On the very first play from scrimmage, James Bradley, Jr. exploded for a 62-yard touchdown run, igniting the home crowd and putting Hoptown on the board. From there, the Tigers never looked back.
Offensive Power
Bradley, Jr. led the way with 132 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including a 78-yard pick-six that capped a dominant first half. Sophomore quarterback Jasiah McCarley connected on a 59-yard scoring strike to Tremayne Clay and added a touchdown run of his own. Xzavion Panapa made his mark with a scoop-and-score after a blocked punt, and Jyariyn Wilson rounded out the night’s scoring with a 12-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Tigers piled up 373 total yards on just 33 plays, with 252 coming on the ground behind a strong effort from the offensive line.
Defensive Domination
A week after struggling against the run, the Tiger defense answered with a complete performance—holding Prosser to just six rushing yards on 22 carries and under 100 yards of total offense. The unit forced two interceptions, including Bradley’s 78-yard return, and consistently pressured the backfield.
Several defenders had standout performances:
-
Foster Jackson, Jordan Duerson, and Griffen Meacham each tallied six total tackles, with Duerson and Meacham also adding tackles for loss.
-
Jordan Catlett was disruptive all night, recording five tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack.
-
Tremayne Clay contributed on both sides of the ball, making five tackles and adding 1.5 tackles for loss.
-
John Morton added five stops, while Andrew Thorson chipped in a sack and two tackles.
-
Depth across the roster was on display, with Jayon Bass, Hakim Skanes, Peyton Martin, Tavares Burgess, and others all recording key stops to preserve the shutout.
Looking Ahead
With the victory, Hopkinsville improves to 2-1 on the season and carries strong momentum into next week’s road trip to Trigg County. The matchup will be the first between the two schools since 2013, adding extra excitement to an already promising season.
The Tigers showed Saturday that when offense, defense, and special teams all fire together, they are a force to be reckoned with.
