CCMS Beta Club Launches Shoe Drive Fundraiser to Support Students and Global Communities

The Christian County Middle School (CCMS) Beta Club is stepping up for both local students and families across the globe through a special shoe drive fundraiser running October 1 – December 12.

The fundraiser will collect gently worn, used, and new shoes, which will be weighed and exchanged for funds through Funds2Orgs. The money raised will directly benefit CCMS Beta students and their projects, while the donated shoes will be given a second life in developing countries.

All donated shoes will be redistributed through Funds2Orgs’ global network of micro-enterprise partners. These small business owners, often in communities with limited job opportunities, sell the shoes to support their families. In fact, one entrepreneur in Haiti earned enough through this program to send her son to law school.

Beta Sponsor Christa Williams shared her excitement about the project:

“We know most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate. By doing so, we raise money for the Beta Club and have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. It’s a win-win for everyone.”

Williams also noted that the timing is perfect, with families often doing closet cleanouts before Christmas.

Community members are encouraged to bring their gently worn, used, or new shoes to Christian County Middle School during the fundraiser period.
