The Hopkinsville Tigers continued their strong run of play Wednesday night, picking up a decisive 92–36 road victory over Fort Campbell to keep their momentum rolling.
Coming off wins in their previous outings, both teams entered the matchup with confidence, but it was Hopkinsville that quickly set the tone. The Tigers jumped out to a 15–4 lead early in the first quarter, fueled by relentless defensive pressure and strong rim protection from Layton Giltner, who recorded several blocks in the opening minutes.
Hopkinsville never let up, closing the first quarter with a commanding 34–10 advantage. The second quarter followed a similar script, as the Tigers continued to force stops and convert on the offensive end. A fast start to the quarter pushed the lead to 46–11, and Hopkinsville carried a 62–18 cushion into halftime.
The Tigers opened the third quarter on a 10–2 run, repeatedly attacking the paint and controlling the tempo. By the end of the period, the lead had grown to 50 points, allowing Hopkinsville to comfortably close out the game in the fourth quarter.
Hopkinsville’s dominance showed up across the stat sheet. The Tigers outrebounded Fort Campbell 30–13 and shot an impressive 60.8 percent from the field, connecting on 42 of 69 attempts.
Hopkinsville will look to keep the streak alive on Saturday, December 13, when the Tigers take on Todd County Central in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Holiday Classic. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Hopkinsville High School.
