It was a big night for Christian County Middle School football Tuesday as both the seventh- and eighth-grade Colonels walked away with victories over Logan County.
The sweep was another strong showing for a CCMS football program continuing to build throughout the season. Both teams took care of business on the field, with the seventh-grade defense pitching a shutout and the eighth-grade offense putting together a big scoring night.
The seventh-grade Colonels set the tone with an 18-0 victory over the Cougars, improving their record to an impressive 4-1 on the season.
Jeremiah Mack helped lead the Christian County offense, rushing for 70 yards and finding the end zone for a touchdown. On the other side of the ball, the Colonel defense kept Logan County off the scoreboard entirely to secure the shutout.
The eighth-grade Colonels followed with a strong performance of their own, defeating Logan County 34-8.
DJ White delivered a big night for Christian County and made an impact in multiple ways. White rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns while also catching two passes for another 50 yards, giving him 110 total yards of offense.
The victory moved the eighth-grade Colonels to 3-2 on the season and completed the Tuesday-night sweep for Christian County.
With both teams earning wins, the Colonels continue to gain valuable experience and momentum as the season moves forward. The seventh graders have now won four of their first five games, while the eighth graders climbed back above .500 with Tuesday’s victory.
The next challenge will take Christian County on the road as the Colonels travel to Paducah Tilghman on Tuesday.
For CCMS football, the goal will be simple — take the momentum from a two-win night and keep building.
