Christian County High School students looking for a new way to challenge themselves, represent Tiger Nation, and put their knowledge to the test have an opportunity waiting for them.
The CCHS Academic Team is looking for students interested in joining this year’s team—and you don’t have to know everything to be a great fit.
Academic Team gives students the chance to take what they know beyond the classroom and put it into competition. Some students may be experts in mathematics or science. Others may love history, literature, writing, the arts, or simply have a brain filled with seemingly random facts that finally need somewhere to go.
There’s a place for all of them.
More Than Just Trivia
Students can participate individually, as part of a team, or both, depending on the event. Academic Team competitions include several different areas designed to showcase different strengths.
Written Assessments allow students to compete in Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Arts & Humanities, giving students an opportunity to specialize in the subjects where they are strongest.
Students who enjoy communicating through the written word can compete in Written Composition, while Strategic Problem Solving, formerly known as Future Problem Solving, challenges students to think critically, collaborate, and develop solutions to complex real-world problems.
And then there is Quick Recall.
It’s fast. It’s competitive. And yes—there are buzzers.
Teams go head-to-head answering questions covering multiple academic subjects, requiring students to combine knowledge, teamwork, strategy, and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
Find Your Place on the Team
One of the strengths of Academic Team is that students don’t have to be great at every subject.
A student who can dominate a history question may need a teammate who knows chemistry. Someone else may recognize a piece of literature before anyone else in the room, while another teammate can solve the math problem.
Different strengths come together to build one team.
That makes Academic Team another way CCHS students can discover their talents, challenge themselves, build relationships, and represent Tiger Nation.

Practices will begin after Fall Break, but students interested in participating are encouraged to make contact as soon as possible so the team can begin preparing for the upcoming season.
