The Christian County Colonels delivered a powerful performance at the Fast Times at Mayfield High event, showcasing their depth and dominance in track and field.
The boys’ team captured 1st place overall, led by an incredible showing from CJ McCarley, who not only won the discus and shot put events but also broke the school record in both. Sprint events were highlighted by Satona Bailey, who claimed first place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, while Kristen Johnson finished second in both and secured first place in the 400-meter dash. Other top finishers included Paul Grace, Wyatt Fleming, May Ray, and Hector Munoz, with strong finishes across the sprint and middle-distance events.
The relay teams continued the Colonels’ dominance, with first-place finishes in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays, second-place finishes in the 4×400 and 4×800 relays, and a fourth-place finish in an additional 4×100 relay. In field events, Iyobossa Ogbes took second in the high jump, Matthew Reeves placed fifth, Marlee Reeves claimed fourth in the long jump, and Jordan Morton finished an impressive second in the long jump for the boys.
The girls’ team also impressed, finishing 5th overall with several standout performances. Symeria Brown swept the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, finishing first in both events. Kaliyah Leavell and Aaliyah Bell added top-10 finishes in the 200 meters, while Bell also placed 7th in the 400 meters. Lily Collins contributed with strong finishes in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, placing 8th and 7th, respectively. The girls’ relay teams earned a 3rd-place finish in the 4×200 and a 5th-place finish in the 4×100. In field events, Takiyah Davie placed 8th in the discus.
The Colonels’ impressive showing across sprint, distance, relay, and field events highlighted the team’s overall strength and depth as they continue their season.
