We are thrilled to announce that Hopkinsville High School’s very own Theodore “Teddy” Marvel has been recognized as a Commended Student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program! This prestigious honor places Teddy among the top 50,000 students nationwide out of approximately 1.5 million who took the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) last year.
Being named a Commended Student means that Teddy has achieved an exceptional score on the PSAT, earning him a place in an elite group of students recognized for their academic excellence. Although Commended Students do not move forward in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, this honor celebrates Teddy’s remarkable academic promise and dedication, qualities that will certainly make him stand out in college admissions and scholarship opportunities.
