Earlier this month, Pembroke Elementary had the privilege of hosting community readers who generously shared their time and passion for storytelling with our Owls. This annual event, organized and sponsored by the Christian County Literacy Council, celebrated the joy of reading while highlighting the vital role the community plays in supporting education.
We are deeply grateful to the volunteers who took time out of their day to bring stories to life for our students. Their efforts not only inspired a love for books but also reinforced the importance of literacy as a key to unlocking future opportunities. By reading aloud and connecting with students, these community readers created moments of curiosity, creativity, and connection that will have a lasting impact.
This day was more than just a celebration of reading—it was a shining example of the power of giving back. When communities invest in their schools, they help build a foundation of support and encouragement that inspires students to dream big and work hard. Events like these remind us that education is a collective effort, and together, we can achieve incredible things.
The Christian County Literacy Council’s dedication to organizing this event reflects their unwavering commitment to our students and schools. Through partnerships like this, they ensure that every child has the tools and encouragement to thrive.
To our community readers and the Christian County Literacy Council, we offer our heartfelt thanks. Your time, generosity, and love for literacy have made a difference in the lives of our Owls and reminded us all of the strength of community.
Together, we are creating a brighter future, one story at a time.
