The Christian County Lady Colonels basketball team put up a strong performance on Saturday in a scrimmage against Daviess County, a top contender in the 3rd Region. The game was a thrilling back-and-forth battle, showcasing the Lady Colonels’ potential and determination as they gear up for the upcoming season.
The Lady Colonels held their own through most of the contest, but a challenging third quarter saw them outscored 4-13, making the difference in the final outcome. The scrimmage followed an Elam Ending format, with the clock stopping at the three-minute mark in the fourth quarter. Despite their best efforts, the Lady Colonels fell short with a final score of 42-51.
There were plenty of bright spots in the game, including standout performances from several players. Senior NeVaeh Day led the charge with an impressive 18 points and 11 rebounds, continuing to establish herself as a key player for the Lady Colonels. Supporting her efforts, Anaysia Bagwell and DEbony Anderson each contributed 7 points, while Daniya Bradley added 6 points and dominated the boards with 13 rebounds.
The Lady Colonels are already looking ahead to their next test. They will travel to Warren East on November 25th for their next scrimmage, ready to build on the positives from this game and continue their preparation for the season.
