The Christian County High School Wrestling team carries a powerful motto into every practice and match: Be Great & Believe. This message was front and center when Coach Dee Leavell and several Colonel wrestlers joined the Kiwanis Club to share more about their program.
During the visit, the team highlighted the five pillars of being great, which guide athletes not only in wrestling but also in life. They also spoke about the program’s mission and vision, emphasizing how the sport develops discipline, resilience, and confidence in each competitor.
Hearing directly from the student-athletes was especially inspiring, as they shared personal stories about how wrestling has shaped them both on and off the mat. From building character to strengthening teamwork, the lessons learned in the wrestling room are leaving a lasting impact.
The Colonels are ready to take on the season with pride, purpose, and belief in themselves and their program. Good luck this year to Coach Leavell and the entire wrestling team!
