Nolan Long, a student at Christian County High School and a determined competitor in the Ohio Valley Cyclocross (OVCX) series, has been racing hard over the past two weekends. On November 2nd, he returned to Seymour, Indiana, for the “Treason Cross,” a course where he claimed first place last year in the Juniors 15-16 category. This year, Long faced tough competition and finished in a strong third place, proving his skill and persistence.
The following weekend, on November 9th, Long raced at the Indy Cycloplex in Indianapolis for the “Harvest Cross.” Challenging himself further, he entered the elite and collegiate men’s category, finishing 25th out of 29 racers. Despite the more competitive field, he held his ground and continued to build on his experience.
This weekend, Long will head to Atlanta to compete in the “Nash Dash Cross,” a UCI-sanctioned race in the Junior Men’s 17-19 category. The event will feature many of the nation’s top junior cyclists, providing a valuable test of his abilities against some of the best riders in his age group.
With only a few stops left in the OVCX series, Long is preparing for the season’s finale at the National Championships in Louisville this December. His dedication and strong performances throughout the season highlight a promising path forward in competitive cyclocross for this skilled Christian County High School student.
