The Hopkinsville High School and Christian County High School cross country teams are gearing up for the Kentucky State Championships in Lexington next weekend! Both schools are proudly sending dedicated athletes to represent their teams and compete against the best in the state.
Hopkinsville High School Tigers
Leading the way for Hopkinsville is Tyson Cavinder, who secured his state spot with a strong 7th place finish. Tyson’s performance has been a highlight, even without his official time yet, showcasing his determination and skill on the course. Alongside Tyson, the Hopkinsville girls’ cross country team will also be competing, bringing a talented group of runners to the state stage. The Tigers girls’ team members include Lauren Mayes, Rebecca Wood, Alexis Herrera-Loveto, Kaydon Coates, Evelyn Bangart, Luanna Acree, and Ameerah Acree. This hardworking group of young women has shown incredible teamwork and resilience throughout the season, and now they’re ready to take on the state competition. Go Tigers!
Christian County High School Colonels
The Christian County High School boys’ cross country team has also earned a spot at the state championships, proving their dedication and drive this season. Joining them is Taylor Morris, representing the Christian County girls’ team as an individual qualifier. Taylor’s commitment and hard work have paid off, and she’ll be proudly running alongside Kentucky’s best.
