Claire Lacy and Wyatt Fleming Gain Hands-On Agricultural Experience at H&R Agripower

Christian County High School Agriculture Pathway students Claire Lacy and Wyatt Fleming are gaining invaluable real-world experience through their work-based learning placements at H&R Agripower, a local leader in agricultural equipment and services. Under the mentorship of Zach Kennedy, a former co-op student himself, Claire and Wyatt are developing technical skills and professional habits that will serve them well in their future careers.

H&R Agripower has a longstanding history of supporting the Fusion Work-Based Learning Program, providing countless students with the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting. Known for molding co-op students into long-term employees, the company’s commitment to mentoring youth is unmatched.

At H&R Agripower, Claire and Wyatt are learning about the maintenance and operation of agricultural machinery, gaining hands-on experience that bridges their classroom instruction with practical applications. Beyond technical training, they are also developing soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—skills essential for success in any industry.

Jim Lancaster, a representative of H&R Agripower, plays a pivotal role in the district’s Work-Based Learning Master Planning Committee, helping guide the program to meet the evolving demands of the workforce. By sharing insights into industry needs, Mr. Lancaster ensures that students like Claire and Wyatt are prepared to thrive in the ever-changing landscape of agriculture.

H&R Agripower serves as a role model for how businesses can mentor youth and provide them with a space to “practice being an adult” during their senior year. This mentorship helps students gain confidence, professionalism, and the tools they need to succeed in any post-graduation endeavor.

Christian County Public Schools extends its gratitude to H&R Agripower for their ongoing partnership and dedication to student success. Their contributions to the Fusion Work-Based Learning Program continue to make a lasting impact on students and the community.
