The 2025 Area One Track & Field Championships were packed with action, and both the Christian County Colonels and Hopkinsville Tigers made their presence known with standout performances from boys and girls alike.
Christian County Colonels
Boys Highlights:

Satona Bailey sprinted to double gold in the 100m (11.06) and 200m (23.13).

Cayden Cline, just a freshman, claimed second in the 1600m with a time of 4:53.34.

The Colonels posted top-10 finishes in the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×800 relays.

In the field, Jordan Morton placed third in the long jump (19’11.75”) and Matthew Reeves cleared 5’0” in the high jump.
Girls Highlights:

Symeria Brown took 1st in the 400m (1:02.37) and 2nd in the 200m (27.50).

Jazmyn Rodriguez, Aaliyah Bell, and Jaseyonia Wilfong contributed in sprints and mid-distance events.

The girls’ 4×100 and 4×200 relays finished strong among a competitive field.

In field events, Takiyah Davie threw 58’11” in discus, and Olivia Jones competed across multiple events.
Hopkinsville Tigers
Boys Highlights:

Tyson Cavinder took 1st in the 3200m with an impressive 10:41.14.

Keyshun Teal earned 3rd in the 110m hurdles (15.60).

The Tigers’ 4×800 relay finished 3rd, and the 4×200 took 5th.

Jamerryon Hawkins contributed in sprints and placed in the high jump (5’4”).

Demontrez Rogers and Alden Marshall showed strength in shot put and discus.
Girls Highlights:

Grace Cansler placed 2nd in the 400m (1:03.02) and 4th in the 100m (13.57).

Alexis Herrera Loveto finished 2nd in the 800m (2:31.55) and anchored a 1st place 4×400 relay team (4:24.85).

Kaniya Jackson Grundy and Alicia Davis helped power relays to top-three finishes.

In throws, TaLaijha Cherry placed 5th in shot put (29’2”), and Malaih Miller threw 68’5” in discus.
