Alicia Davis, a Culinary Pathway student at Gateway Academy and Hopkinsville High School (HHS), is gaining valuable experience through the Fusion Work-Based Learning (WBL) program. Alicia is learning the ins and outs of the culinary field, including restaurant technology, customer service, food safety, and meal preparation. These hands-on experiences are complemented by employability skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and professionalism.
This year, Chick-fil-A joined the Fusion WBL program, providing new opportunities for CCPS students. While Chick-fil-A has long been known for hiring students outside of school hours, their partnership with the Fusion program expands their commitment to developing young talent. Alicia’s placement at Chick-fil-A allows her to work directly in a professional restaurant environment, applying her classroom learning to real-world situations.
Under the guidance of the Chick-fil-A management team, Alicia is not only honing her culinary skills but also gaining practical knowledge of what it takes to run a successful restaurant. From handling restaurant technology to ensuring customer satisfaction, Alicia is building a strong foundation for her future career in the culinary industry.
