Christian County Public Schools’ Fusion Work-Based Learning Program continues to connect students with invaluable real-world experiences, and this year, Makyrah Sharber, a senior at Gateway Academy and Christian County High School, is making an incredible impact in the healthcare field.
As a health science pathway scholar, Makyrah is currently earning her Medical Nurse Aide license, preparing for a future in healthcare. Through the Fusion program’s cooperative education initiative, Makyrah is gaining hands-on experience as a co-op student at Christian Care Communities. Each day, she demonstrates her compassion and growing skill set while working with long-term care residents at the Christian Health Center.
A Future Healthcare Hero
Makyrah has proven herself to be an aspiring licensed healthcare professional, showcasing her dedication, empathy, and technical abilities in a real-world setting. Her daily interactions with residents allow her to hone her employability skills and develop the competencies needed for success in her career. By blending her classroom learning with practical application, she is taking a significant step toward her goal of becoming a licensed healthcare professional.
A Partnership for Success
Christian Care Communities plays a crucial role in Makyrah’s journey by offering her the opportunity to work in a supportive and professional environment. This partnership exemplifies how the Fusion Work-Based Learning Program connects students with local businesses and organizations to provide meaningful, career-focused experiences.
Christian County Public Schools extends a heartfelt thank you to Christian Care Communities for hosting Makyrah and for their ongoing commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. Their dedication to supporting students not only prepares them for the workforce but also highlights the essential contributions of healthcare workers in our community.
A Bright Future Ahead
Makyrah’s hard work and determination are inspiring, and her co-op experience is equipping her with the tools to succeed in a field that changes lives. We’re proud of Makyrah’s accomplishments and look forward to seeing her continue to grow as a healthcare professional.
Thank you, Christian Care Communities, for your partnership and for helping Makyrah on her journey. Healthcare workers are true heroes!
