Fusion in Action: Valentin Gonzalez Gains Hands-On Experience at West Side Body Shop

Valentin Gonzalez, an Aircraft Maintenance Pathway student at Gateway Academy and Christian County High School (CCHS), is putting his skills to the test through the Fusion Work-Based Learning (WBL) program. Valentin, known as Val, is working at West Side Body Shop, owned and operated by Greg Perry, a long-time supporter of CCPS Fusion.

West Side Body Shop has been a valuable partner for several years, providing students in the automotive and aircraft maintenance pathways with opportunities to explore their fields and gain real-world experience. By working in a professional shop, Val is learning skills that will prepare him for a successful career.

At West Side, Val is building employability skills such as time management, problem-solving, and teamwork. He’s also gaining hands-on experience in diagnostics, repair techniques, and customer service, all while working in a fast-paced and professional environment. These skills not only enhance his technical knowledge but also prepare him to thrive in any workplace.

CCPS is grateful to Greg Perry and the team at West Side Body Shop for their continued support of the Fusion WBL program. Your dedication to mentoring students like Val makes a lasting impact on their education and career readiness. Thank you for helping our students explore their passions and build their futures!
