HHS Track and Field Posts Strong Results at Muhlenberg County Invitational

Hopkinsville High School’s track and field team put together a competitive performance at the 2025 Muhlenberg County Invitational, going up against 26 teams from across the region.

Boys Team Earns 3rd Overall

The Hopkinsville boys team finished in 3rd place with 69 points, highlighted by several top finishes. Elijah Reid took 1st place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.52, and Keyshun Teal claimed 1st in the 300-meter hurdles at 43.04. Savior Davis also earned a 1st place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.17.

Relay events were another strong area, with the 4x800m relay team placing 2nd (8:58), the 4x200m team finishing 5th (1:37.47), and the 4x100m team securing 6th (46.92). The boys closed out with a 5th place in the 4x400m relay, running 3:53.30.

Other boys’ highlights:

  • Kayden Humphrey: 5th in 110m hurdles and 4th in 300m hurdles (48.37)

  • LaMareon Jeffers: 4th in the 800m

  • Carlo Jones: 8th in the high jump

  • Treston Kay: 5th in the triple jump

Lady Tigers Finish in Top 10

The Hopkinsville girls placed 10th out of 26 teams with 23 points. In distance events, Lauren Mayes took 3rd in the 3200m run with a time of 12:31.01.

In relays, the girls’ 4x800m team ran a 12:22.83 for 7th place, while the 4x400m team posted a time of 5:02.91 to finish 8th.

Hurdles events included:

  • Kaniya Jackson-Grundy: 6th in the 300m hurdles (58.85)

  • Leilani Esteban: 8th in the 300m hurdles

  • Ollia Dixon: 7th in the 100m hurdles (19.41)

  • Leaunna Wilkerson: 8th in the 100m hurdles

Additional girls’ results:

  • Alexis Herrera-Lovato: 7th in the 800m

  • Malia Miller: 7th in shot put

  • TaLaijha Cherry: 8th in shot put
