Hopkinsville and Christian County Swim Teams Compete in Exciting Meet

On December 3rd, the swim teams from Hopkinsville High School (HHS), Christian County High School (CCHS), and Madisonville North Hopkins (MNHHS) faced off in a highly competitive meet at the Hopkinsville pool. Both HHS and CCHS swimmers showed great effort and skill, making their mark against strong opposition.

Women’s Team Scores:

Hopkinsville’s women’s team placed 2nd with 256 points, just behind Madisonville North Hopkins with 271. Christian County came in 3rd, scoring 243 points.

Highlights:

  • Saralynn Major (HHS): Took 2nd in the Women’s 200 Free (2:30.00) and 3rd in the 100 Free (1:08.81), earning key points for her team.
  • Grace Cansler (HHS): Won the 100 Breaststroke in 1:19.62, standing out as one of the meet’s top performers.
  • Addison Renshaw (CCHS): Finished 4th in the 200 Free (2:43.46) and 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke (1:39.59), contributing valuable points.
  • Team Relays: Hopkinsville’s 200 Free Relay team claimed 2nd (2:10.58), while Christian County followed in 3rd (2:21.50), showing teamwork and determination​.

Men’s Team Scores:

Christian County’s men’s team finished 2nd with 101 points, while Hopkinsville came in 3rd with 31 points. Madisonville led with 157 points​.

Highlights:

  • Kolton Parker (CCHS): Took 2nd in the 100 Backstroke (1:30.04) and 2nd in the 200 Free (2:51.46), contributing to the team’s overall success.
  • Lance Zigelhofer (HHS): Placed 2nd in the 50 Free (35.93), showcasing speed in a tight race.
  • Shemar Barker (CCHS): Won the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:37.17, giving Christian County a strong finish in the event.

Combined Team Scores:

Madisonville North Hopkins took 1st place overall with 428 points. Christian County followed in 2nd with 344 points, while Hopkinsville finished 3rd with 287 points​.
