Layton Lindsey, an exceptional freshman baseball player for the Hopkinsville Tigers, recently stepped into the role of Judge Executive for a day. Guided by Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam, Lindsey had a unique opportunity to engage with community leaders and gain firsthand experience in local government.
Lindsey, who played a pivotal role in leading the Tigers to the Elite Eight in this year’s state baseball championship, also demonstrated his leadership skills off the field. Throughout the day, he attended several events, gaining insight into the responsibilities of public office.
One of the highlights of his day was witnessing Col. Clint Cody’s final flight with the CAB brigade at Fort Campbell. This momentous occasion provided Lindsey with a memorable experience and a deeper appreciation for the service of military personnel.
