Martin Leads Tigers to victory at Boots Randolph

The Hopkinsville Tigers showed their strength on the course Monday, with senior standout Ryan Martin taking medalist honors in a three-team match at Boots Randolph Golf Course at Lake Barkley State Park.

Martin fired a steady 3-over-par 39 on the front nine, securing the top spot and finishing just two strokes ahead of teammate Isaiah Wood, who carded a 41. The Tigers kept the scores rolling with Sam Riggs (47), J.B. Payne and Landon Holeman (53), and Aiden Riley (60), proving once again that depth is one of Hoptown’s biggest advantages.

Christian County’s Chris Adcock led the Colonels with a 45, edging out teammate Drew Fincham by a single stroke. Reed Ezell (53) and Jayden McMillian (60) rounded out the scoring for the Colonels, keeping the cross-town rivalry competitive.

When the scores were tallied, Hopkinsville’s total of 180 gave the Tigers a 24-shot victory over Christian County. Trigg County finished third with a team score of 251.

The win not only highlighted Martin’s medalist performance but also showed that the Tigers have the consistency and balance to make noise all season long.
