Saluting Our Veterans: The Heart and Strength of CCPS

On this Veterans Day, Christian County Public Schools (CCPS) proudly joins the nation in honoring the veterans who have served with bravery, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to our country. We are especially grateful for the veterans who continue their service to the community in our schools, from teachers and coaches to administrators and support staff. Their presence enriches the daily lives of our students, inspiring them through example and embodying the values of honor, resilience, and leadership.

Veterans are woven into the fabric of CCPS in countless ways. From our award-winning band to our dedicated boys’ basketball teams, the impact of veterans—both past and present—can be felt throughout our schools. These men and women bring an invaluable perspective that fosters a culture of respect, teamwork, and discipline, helping shape the next generation. Their contributions remind us all of the strength of service and the power of commitment, lessons that resonate deeply with students and staff alike.

Beyond our school district, the community of Christian County is proud to be home to Fort Campbell, a cornerstone of our region. The presence of Fort Campbell not only enhances our community but also brings a deep and enduring connection to the values that veterans represent. The soldiers and families stationed at Fort Campbell add to the vibrancy and resilience of Christian County, building bridges of support between the military and civilian communities. Their sacrifices and commitment serve as a living testament to the spirit of service that inspires so many within our schools and beyond.

Having Fort Campbell as part of our community is a profound privilege. The strength, dedication, and honor that military families bring to our area resonate deeply within Christian County, reinforcing the values that guide CCPS every day. Many of our students are children of service members, and they see firsthand the courage and dedication of their parents. For our veterans working in CCPS, this shared experience creates a powerful bond and a lasting legacy of service that inspires our young people to give back and make a difference.

As a son and grandson of veterans, I personally say thank you. To every veteran in our schools and community, your legacy lives on in every classroom, sports field, and auditorium, and your influence is felt every day. This Veterans Day, we celebrate you and the example you set for our students, our schools, and our community.
