At Christian County Public Schools, we know that partnerships make all the difference—and this week, we’re thrilled to highlight one of our newest! From our friends at Dunkin’ Donuts and TEAM, we are proud to welcome them into the family of businesses who are opening their doors to mentor our students through Work-Based Learning.
This year, Dunkin’ Donuts has accepted two incredible co-op students:
-
Adreyona Smith, a Family and Consumer Science Pathway scholar, is gaining valuable real-world experience during her morning co-op placement.
-
Mackenzie Duffy, a Culinary Pathway scholar, joins the Dunkin’ team each afternoon to strengthen her skills and learn from professionals in the food industry.
These placements are more than just jobs—they are life-changing opportunities. Here’s why this partnership is so powerful:
For Our Students
-
Hands-On Experience: Adreyona and Mackenzie are practicing transferable skills like food prep, teamwork, and customer service in a professional environment.
-
Mentorship: With guidance from the Dunkin’ team, they are learning workplace expectations and developing confidence as young adults.
-
Career Exploration: Both students are discovering how their classroom learning connects directly to real-world opportunities in hospitality and culinary arts.
For Our Community
-
Investing in Youth: Local businesses like Dunkin’ show our students that the community believes in them and their futures.
-
Stronger Workforce Pipeline: By mentoring students now, we ensure a more prepared and skilled workforce for years to come.
-
Community Engagement: Partnerships like this bring schools and businesses together, building stronger connections across Christian County.
For the Business
-
Fresh Perspectives: Students bring energy, new ideas, and excitement into the workplace.
-
Future Employees: Work-Based Learning helps businesses connect with potential long-term team members who are already trained in their systems.
-
Giving Back: By mentoring, Dunkin’ is creating a lasting impact on both our students and our community—an investment that goes far beyond the classroom.
We are so thankful to Dunkin’ Donuts for being more than a business in our community—they are an integral partner in preparing our youth for life after graduation.
