Workforce Wednesdays: Spotlight on 1st Choice Tire & Fleet

This week, we are so proud to kick off Workforce Wednesdays with a spotlight on one of our amazing business partners—1st Choice Tire & Fleet, with locations near Bradshaw Road and Canton.

Two of our talented scholars, Andrew Walden and Landen Tuttle, are gaining hands-on experience here in both automotive and aircraft maintenance. Owners J.E. Pryor and Charlie Welker have welcomed them into the shop and already begun mentoring them in some of the most important fundamentals of the trade.

From basic automotive repair to small engine and golf cart repair, and from safety practices to the proper way to dispose of tires and lubricants, Andrew and Landen are learning what it takes to work in a professional setting. But beyond the wrenches and oil pans, they are also practicing the most valuable skill of all—customer service.

The demand for reliable mechanics is stronger than ever, and what better place for these young men to learn than from some of the best right here at 1st Choice Tire & Fleet? Their time spent here is preparing them not only for successful careers, but also for life after graduation.

This is exactly what Workforce Wednesdays is all about—celebrating the connections between our students and our local businesses, and showcasing how our community is investing in the future. And if you’d like to learn more—or if your business is ready to join the growing list of amazing companies making a difference in Christian County—please reach out to me at Kelly.Gates@christian.kyschools.us.
