Christian County continued to demonstrate the growth and potential of its girls’ golf program with a commendable eighth-place team finish at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club Invitational on Tuesday.
Leading the charge for the Lady Colonels was Allie Ezell, who shot a round of 117 and secured a tie for 48th place. Her scorecard included four bogeys and a par on the 17th hole, showcasing her skill and determination.
Alyse Ezell also delivered a solid performance, tying for 51st place with a score of 121. She managed to card a bogey on the 13th hole, adding to the team’s overall performance.
Adding to the team’s depth, Carter Jane Wilson and Anslee West each participated in their first 18-hole events for the Lady Colonels. Wilson matched Alyse Ezell’s score with a 121, highlighted by a par and two bogeys on her scorecard. West, showing great effort in her debut, shot a 139 to finish in 54th place.
The team’s promising finish at the invitational marks a significant step in their development and sets the stage for future competitions. In the coming weeks, the Lady Colonels will compete in several midweek 9-hole matches, providing further opportunities to hone their skills and gain valuable experience.
