For the Bussell family, the memory of Nydarian “Ny” Bussell continues to inspire the next generation through the annual Nydarian “Ny” Bussell Humanitarian Scholarship, presented by Men2Be. This year’s scholarships recognized two young men whose character, leadership, and commitment to serving others have set them apart.
Men2Be awarded the $2,000 First Place Scholarship to Kveon Ivory and the $1,000 Second Place Scholarship to Lamareon Jeffers, helping both students continue their educational journeys while honoring the life and legacy of Ny Bussell.
Before announcing the recipients, Men2Be expressed its appreciation to Pearl Poindexter and the entire Bussell and Bailey families for allowing the organization to honor exceptional young men in Ny’s memory. What began as a way to remember one remarkable life has grown into an opportunity to invest in many more.
Kveon Ivory was selected as this year’s first-place recipient, earning a $2,000 scholarship in recognition of his hard work, outstanding character, and dedication to building a bright future. In announcing the award, Men2Be shared its hope that the scholarship would serve not only as financial support but also as a reminder that an entire community believes in him and is cheering him on every step of the way.
Lamareon Jeffers received the $1,000 second-place scholarship after demonstrating the qualities the humanitarian award was created to celebrate. Men2Be congratulated Jeffers while encouraging him to continue striving, leading, serving, and making his community proud as he pursues the next chapter of his life.
The Nydarian “Ny” Bussell Humanitarian Scholarship honors far more than academic achievement. It recognizes young men who lead with integrity, serve others without seeking recognition, and leave a positive impact on those around them—qualities that reflected Ny’s own life.
Through the continued generosity of the Bussell family, community supporters, and Men2Be, the scholarship has now invested more than $13,000 in deserving young men across the Hopkinsville-Christian County community.
