Today, Christian County Public Schools held its annual Commitment to Teach event, celebrating students who have chosen to pursue careers in education. The ceremony was hosted at Gateway Academy, with Gateway Principal Penny Knight welcoming students, families, and guests to the event.
Matt Adams, Program Director for the Teaching and Learning Pathway, spoke about the importance of preparing future educators and the opportunities available through the pathway. The event also included a special recognition from Murray State University, led by Donna Wear, the College of Education’s Professional Development and Clinical Supervisor, who congratulated students for their dedication to the teaching profession.
Bev Fort, teacher recruiter for Christian County Public Schools, conducted the official Commitment portion of the ceremony. Students were recognized for their decision to pursue education careers, although not all students will be attending Murray State University.
